Top 20 College Degrees Held By Black Millennials


The top field of degree for African Americans age 25 to 40 was Business Management and Administration according to an analysis of the 2019 Census Bureau ACS microdata sample.  More than 177,000 African Americans in that age group held that degree with an average salary of $55,259 annually.

Not far below Business Management and Administration was Psychology, with 172,000 recipients earnings an average of $49,872. Of the top 20 degrees, Computer Science was the highest earning in 2019 at $66,288 average salary for just over 54,000 degree holders. The lowest earning degree holders on the top 20 list was Liberal Arts with 32,000 degree holders averaging $45,207 in 2019.
