Maryland was the only top 10 states whose Black home-ownership rate did not decrease. Mississippi saw the largest percentage point decrease from 57% in 2010 to 53% in 2019. Both Tennessee and Texas saw 5 percentage points drops to 42.3% and 39.9% respectively. The only state to see a considerable increase in Black home-ownership was Massachusetts which had a increase of 3.8 percentage points to 36% during the same period. Nationwide, Black home-ownership rates did not begin to rebound until 2015 overall.
